A Virginia State Police special agent who was fatally shot in Richmond is survived by a wife and three children.
Authorities say 45-year-old Special Agent Michael T. Walter was shot Friday after he and a City of Richmond police officer approached a vehicle parked on a street in a public housing project.
State Police Col. Steven Flaherty said Saturday that Walter has two sons— ages 14 and nine— and a six-year-old daughter. Flaherty said Walter was an 18-year veteran of Virginia State Police and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
