With May coming to an end, millions have either already graduated from college or will soon do so, hoping their degree gives way to a successful career.
Well, according to one recent survey, Sacramento may not be the best place for that. A Bankrate.com report released Thursday ranked Sacramento at No. 3 on its list of the “Worst Cities to Start a Career,” just ahead of Miami.
Bankrate’s survey looked the 50 biggest metropolitan areas in the US, ranking the 10 best and 10 worst. The list took into account factors including employment opportunity, career potential and affordability. It used data from a variety of sources including the U.S. Census, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce.
Three other California cities made the lists. San Bernardino was named the worst city in which to begin work, while San Francisco (No. 10) and San Jose (No. 7) made the “Best” list.
