ONTARIO >> Police evacuated a portion of Terminal 2 at the Ontario International Airport on Friday afternoon after discovering a large caliber bullet in the screening area, police said.
“The screening area was evacuated until it is determined if the round is live or inert,” Lt. Dave McBride said.
Within an hour officials lifted the order and a spokesman for the airport released more details surrounding the partial evacuation.
“A government contract worker had a training device in his checked luggage,” Dan Adamus, spokesman for the Ontario International Airport Authority said. “All proper procedures were followed and the only area evacuated was where the device was found.”
