Police searching for man suspected of molesting girl at Yorba Linda playground

YORBA LINDA — Authorities are searching for more information on a male suspected of sexually assaulting a teenage girl on a playground at a condominium complex.

The man or teen boy approached two 13-year-old girls who were sitting in the playground at the Fairgreen condominium complex in the 6600 block of Fairlynn Boulevard about 8 p.m. on Monday, May 22, and asked them to perform a sex act, according to Jaimee Blashaw of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The teens refused and one girl walked away. The suspect made another lewd remark to the girl that remained behind, prompting her to get up and walk away as well, authorities said.

The man chased the second girl and pulled her pants and underwear down from behind, authorities said. The man then held the girl and groped her buttocks. The victim was able to break free and run, Blashaw said.

The suspect is described as a white male between 17 and 25 years old with dark-brown curly hair covering the tops of his ears. He stands about 6-foot-3 and weighs 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light-colored T-shirt and black basketball-style shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call 714-647-7418 or 714-647-7000.
