Hollywood storage building damaged in fire

HOLLYWOOD >> A fire damaged two units in a five-story storage building Friday night in Hollywood but no one was injured.

The blaze broke out at 10:09 p.m. at 6801 Santa Monica Blvd., near Highland Avenue, and was knocked down by 60 firefighters in 50 minutes, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was contained to the two units, held in check by sprinklers, Stewart said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
