CHINO >> At least one person was killed early Saturday in a fiery crash that involved a semi-truck and vehicle on the eastbound 60 Freeway in Chino, according to initial reports.
The incident, described as a “fatal,” was reported a little before 2 a.m. on the 60 near the Mountain Avenue off-ramp, according to a California Highway Patrol.
Both the vehicle and semi-truck were on fire, the log says.
The truck had crashed and went into some guardrail on the 60 and looked as though it might fall from the overpass onto the street below, the log says. The vehicle was already off the freeway, described as being at the bottom of the offramp.
A SigAlert was issued. The no. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway were closed as was Mountain Avenue underneath the freeway, according to a the log.
A little before 8 a.m. Saturday, the no. 3 lane was open but the no. 4 lane and Mountain Avenue remained closed.
