GILROY >> Fighting to catch her breath while trying to ignore the pain her entire body was feeling, Mikayla Revera looked to the sky as she laid on her back.

No, it wasn’t the time the Santa Catalina sprinter had hoped for in the 400. Yet, the end result was the senior’s first Central Coast Section track and field championship.

“I can finally say I’m a CCS champion,” Revera said.

Blistering the first 300 meters, Revera hung on over the final 75 to win the 400 meters…
