2 Fontana men accused of stealing SUV they rented in Glendale




Fontana >> Two men were arrested in Fontana on Thursday in connection with the theft of a vehicle they rented in Glendale. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said Friday.

At 5:01 p.m. Thursday, two San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies located a black Cadillac XTS that had been reported stolen eastbound on Merrill Avenue near Beach Avenue, according to a sheriff’s statement.

After calling for backup, the deputies signalled for the vehicle to pull over on Merrill Avenue near Mango Avenue,

The occupants of the vehicle, Paris Follman and Gordon Stacer, were detained without incident, the Sheriff’s Department statement said.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located driver’s licenses that did not belong to Follman or Stacer, the report said.

It was later determined that the vehcile was fraudulently rented in Glendale using the name on one of the identifications.

Both men were arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and outstanding warrants, the statement said.
