The 45th annual Oakland Greek Festival, which runs from May 19-21 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension, features culture, art, food, music and dance. This year’s festival is expected to draw about 20,000 people as the Greek community celebrates 100 years since their church was founded in Oakland.
Tickets for admission will cost $6, though a dollar discount will be given if a can of food is brought for donation to the Alameda Community Food Bank. The hours are Friday and Saturday 10am-11pm and Sunday 11am-9pm. For more information go to their website, http://www.oaklandgreekfestival.com/
