The National Weather Service has issued a statement saying that the combination of high surf and strong rip currents will produce potentially hazardous conditions along the entire San Diego County coastline from 8 a.m. Friday to late Sunday evening.
A swell out of the west-northwest is rolling ashore, and is expected to produce 4’ to 6’ waves, with sets to 7’, in favored spots Friday and Saturday. The biggest waves are likely to occur in South County.
The beaches are expected to be unusually busy because of the weather; temperatures could hit 80 degrees or more on Friday and Saturday along the coast, and approach 90 degrees across inland valleys and foothills.
