Student questioned, security increased after implied threats about Valencia High School

VALENCIA >> A 15-year-old female student made what a sheriff’s lieutenant called an implied threat over Snapchat Thursday night, prompting authorities to increase security at Valencia High School Friday.

The student was questioned but not arrested by authorities after sending a picture to five friends over Snapchat, and at least one of them contacted authorities, according to Lt. Salvador Becerra of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.

Becerra said the nature of the threat was still being investigated and declined to go into detail about what was in the picture but said there will be a “uniformed presence” at the school on Friday.
