Man shot in back in West Valinda

WEST VALINDA >> A man trying to flee from two suspects was shot in the back Friday morning, authorities said.

Sgt. James Beamon of the sheriff’s Industry Station said the man is in stable condition at a hospital.

The shooting occurred in the 13000 block of Prichard Street around 8:20 a.m.

The man told deputies he was getting ready to go to work when two teens walked up to him and asked what he was looking at, according to Beamon.

“He turned and starts running into his house. He heard a shot,” Beamon said, adding that victim was shot once in the back.

The sergeant didn’t have descriptions of the suspects,

Deputies checked the area but have not found the duo.
