What he did: Ran for 2776 yards, 34 TDs. Averaged 9.5 yards per carry. Best game vs. San Ramon Valley in NCS playoffs: 304 rushing yards, 62 receiving yards. Headed to Alabama but could switch. Recently visited Cal.

South Bay/Peninsula player of the year
Leki Nunn, Serra, quarterback, 5-10, 175 pounds, senior
What he did: Accounted for 3,103 total yards: 1,055 rushing, 1,972 passing. Phenomenal in Serra’s march to state title game. In last three playoff contests, accounted for 1,285 combined rushing, passing yards and 17 TDs.

East Bay offensive player of the year
Ronnie Rivers, Freedom, running back, 5-8, 170, senior
What he did: Rushed for 2,239 yards, 33 TDs in 13 games. Four games over 200 yards, including 389 and seven TDs vs. Antioch in 65-28 win. Committed to Fresno St., following dad’s footsteps.

South Bay/Peninsula offensive player of the year
Jordan Mims, Menlo-Atherton, running back, 6-0, 190, senior
What he did: Had 2,388 yards, 29 TDs in leading M-A to 3-AA CIF state title game. Five times surpassed 200 yards, including 312 yards, four TDs in NorCal final. Four games with four or more TDs.

East Bay defensive player of the year
Nate Landman, Monte Vista, linebacker, 6-3, 212, senior
What he did: Colorado-bound player a star on both sides of ball. Caught 38 passes for 577 yards, seven TDs. Threw two TD passes. Made biggest impact on defense, where he’s expected to play for Buffaloes.
