What has eight arms and slithers?

An octopus, it turns out.

A video shared on social media captures a slinky cephalopod — undulating tentacles and all — as it travels across the rocks and into water.

Vicky Vásquez, a graduate student with the Pacific Shark Research Center at the Moss Landing Marine Lab, was checking out some tide pools at Pillar Point in Half Moon Bay when she noticed the octopus and started filming.

The octopus was the size of an apple or orange, according to NBC Bay Area.

People who see a red octopus like the one captured in the video should be warned, however: The species is venomous, Vásquez notes, according to KSBW.
