Police ask for public's help to find young, missing North Hollywood couple

A search continued Friday for a young North Hollywood couple who went missing during a holiday road trip to Big Sur and did not return by Christmas as planned.

Police circulated photos of Olivia Hannah Gonzalez, 20, and Brian Fernandez, 21, hoping someone will share information leading to their whereabouts.

The couple were last seen nearly a week ago, and their families have not heard from them since, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Gonzalez and Fernandez did not live together, said Vanessa Guzman, who is Gonzalez’s sister.

The two left Dec. 23 on what was to be a weekend trip. They were expected to return on Christmas Day, according to the LAPD.

Gonzalez is Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs 120 pounds. She has blonde hair and brown eyes. Fernandez is also Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighs 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Fernandez was driving a tan 2002 Honda Civic four-door sedan, with a California license plate number of 5VUD295.

Guzman, 32, said the last time she heard from her sister Olivia was at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 23.

“I asked her if she was going with me to our family for the Christmas holiday,” said Guzman, who added her sister lives with her. “She informed me she was going to Big Sur.”

The last text message anyone received from Gonzalez was a message she sent to Guzman’s husband at 11:40 a.m. saying she was two hours away from Big Sur.
