Two injured in head-on crash in northern Mendocino County

Two people suffered major injuries in a head-on vehicle crash on Highway 101 in northern Mendocino County Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Parol.

Both were airlifted to hospitals in Chico and Redding, according to Cal Fire.

The crash between two sedans occurred north of Laytonville at 1:27 p.m., the CHP said.

No additional information, including the names of the injured parties, was available early Thursday afternoon.
