Sharks vs. Flyers pregame: Three keys for San Jose

The Sharks are 19-14-4 all-time vs. Philadelphia and had a 2-0 record against the Flyers last season. In their last meeting with the Flyers at SAP Center, a year ago to the day, Joe Pavelski scored twice, Joe Thornton had a goal and an assist and Patrick Marleau and Logan Couture each had two assists in a 4-2 Sharks win. Martin Jones stopped 17 of 19 shots.

Micheal Haley has become a regular in the Sharks’ lineup

Sharks notes: The Sharks are making a couple of lineup changes for Friday’s game, as goalie Aaron Dell will play for the first time since Dec. 10 and defenseman David Schlemko will reenter the lineup after being a scratch for the last three games. Dell is 3-1 this season with a .926 save percentage in five games, as he faces his former coach at North Dakota, Flyers coach Dave Hakstol. Schlemko, who is third among Sharks defensemen with 55 shots on goal, will be alongside Brenden Dillon on the third defense pair as he replaces Dylan DeMelo. Tommy Wingels and Matt Nieto will also be scratched.

Flyers notes: Hakstol is making a handful of changes after his team’s 6-3 loss to St. Louis on Wednesday. Rookie winger Travis Konecny will be a scratch for the first time this season, as his spot on the second line will be assumed by Taylor Leier.
