Keith Avila was barely a month into driving for Uber when one of his rides led to the rescue of a 16-year-old girl from the world of sex trafficking.

Shortly after Avila picked up three females for a ride in Elk Grove, he started to overhear a conversation that revealed the passengers were not friends getting a lift together but rather two pimps and a prostitute, according to the New York Daily News.

“They started like talking, like saying everything that was going on. Like what they’re doing, child sex trafficking,” Avila said, according to ABC13.

After dropping them off at their destination — a Holiday Inn, where the younger passenger was allegedly sent to solicit sex — Avila called the police, who quickly showed up.

Destiny Pettway, 25, and Maria Westly, 31, were arrested on charges of pimping and pandering, and a man who was identified as “Disney Vang” was arrested for sex with a minor.
